Beyond the Page
This was a second year type brief to visually interpret a narrative. My group decided to use 'This is the coastal town that they forgot to close down' from the song 'Everyday is like Sunday' by Morrissey. We decided to base our quote in Clacton, a notoriously run down coastal town in Essex. We split the quote into two lines and worked with two mediums. We created a sign for the first line representing typical seaside design and represented the second line using 3D type that we based on many buildings that we saw around the town where the plaster and paint work had peeled away to reveal the original bricks behind. We created two series with the final images.
